Nellie Floyd Corbin 80, of 150 Raines Road, Columbia, KY passed away Monday, January 11, 2010 at 1:15pmCT at Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral service will be Thursday, January 14, 2010, at 1pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Garnett Hammond and Bro. Stephen Corbin the officiating clergy.Interment in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 2pmCT, Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at the funeral home.


Nellie Floyd Corbin (1929-2010)

Nellie Floyd Corbin was born on December 7, 1929 and died in Russell Springs, KY, on January 11, 2010, at the age of 80 years, one month, and 4 days.

She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Mattie Rooks Floyd.

She was the widow of Glenwood Corbin, who preceded her in death on February 16, 2003.

Survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Debra Raines and husband Richard of Columbia, KY

  • One son: Stephen Corbin and wife Lisa of Columbia, KY

  • Three brothers: James Floyd of Cincinnati, OH; Charles (C.C.) Floyd of Russell Springs, KY, and Alvis Floyd of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Carrie Lindsey of Louisville, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Brittany Raines, Byron Raines, Tyler Corbin and Mason Corbin

  • And several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends
Preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Wells.

She was a member of Beckham Ridge Separate Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
