Obituary: Veston (Bocky) Bottom, 81, Russell Co., KY

Mr. Bottom was a former Mayor of Russell Springs. He was a US Navy and Air Force Veteran, a member of the Royville Friendship Church, and was a past master of the Russell Springs Masonic Lodge

Veston "Bocky" Bottom, 81, Shepherd DR, Russell Springs, KY, died Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

The funeral service will be Sunday, January 10, 2010, at 1pmCT at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Rev. Carroll Egnew the officiating clergy. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Special music will be by Rita Curry.



Pallbearers will be Joel Wolford, Eric Wolford, Stephen Bottom, Miles Bottom, Kevin Holt, and Rex Eads. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Curry, Charles Blankenship, H.M. Bottom, Jerry Holt, and Chris Stapp.

Veston "Bocky" Bottom (1928-2010)

He was born November 11, 1928, the son of the late Tressie Anderson Bottom and Bert Bottom, and died January 6, 2010, at the age of 81 years, 1 month, and 26 days.He is survived by his wife, Joan Cape Bottom, and the following:
  • One daughter: Sherry Daniel, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Rachel Daniel and Adam Daniel

  • Two brothers: Raymond Bottom, Brandon, MS; and Billy Bottom, Lexington, KY

  • Two sisters: Jeanette (Elba) Wolford, and Janis Holt, all of Russell Springs, KY
Mr. Bottom was a salesman for Monroe Auto Equipment. He was a member of the Royville Friendship Church, a veteran of the US Navy and Air Force, and was a former Russell Springs Mayor and City Councilman. He was a past master of the Russell Springs Masonic Lodge. The family requests memorials to Gideons International.
