Election 2010:
Bobby Sullivan is candidate for Adair Co. Sheriff

By Bobby Sullivan, candidate for the Republican nomination
for Sheriff of Adair Co., KY, subject to the Tuesday, May 18, 2010 primary election

My name is Bobby Sullivan, Republican candidate for Sheriff ofAdair County.

Growing up in the Oak Grove community as the son of Alvisand the late Dorothy Sullivan, I learned early on that Adair County isand always will be home to me.

Being born and raised in a smallcommunity, I was taught to respect the value of honesty and hard work. With the help of my wife, the former Lee Ann Dohoney, to whom I havebeen married for 21 years, I have strived to raise my two children,Brandi and Chase, with those same values.

My family and I attend the Columbia Christian Church.

Like many Adair Countians, I grew up working on the family farmand later went to work for OshKosh B'Gosh. Upon leaving OshKosh B'Gosh , I began my career in law enforcement with the Kentucky State Police in 1984.While serving as a police officer, I have acquired a vast knowledge ofcriminal, traffic, and civil laws in Kentucky.

I would like to announce two individuals who will serve asdeputies if I am elected:

  • Mendel Sexton is a member of a large respected southern Adair County family and now resides on Highway East 80. Mendel is married to the former La Gene Stephens and together they are the parents of threechildren.

Mendel is the son of James Howard and Mary Rosaline Sexton, and has two brothers and a sister. Mendel attends the Columbia UnitedMethodist Church, is a board member of Adair County Little LeagueBaseball, and a former member of the Columbia/Adair County VolunteerFire Department. Mendel has been a self-employed, small business ownerof Russell County Kwik Lube for the past 10 years.

  • William "Bug" Knight was born in the Christine Community ofAdair County and is the son of the late William and Cecil Knight. Hehas been married to the former Lana Wilson for the past 37 years andhas three children. They are also the proud grandparents of threegrandsons and one granddaughter. Bug has served Adair County over thepast 26 years as a Deputy Sheriff, Deputy Jailer and Adair CountyJailer.
Over the next few months, I plan to see as many of you aspossible. If I am unable to see you in person, I respectfully ask foryour vote and support in the upcoming primary election for Adair CountySheriff.

Thank you,

-Bobby Sullivan
