Remembering Mr. Glasgow: Little kid thought he was magic To ColumbiaMagazine.com: I, too, remember Mr. Shirley Glasgow and his ever-present cigar. I would go to Southern States with my dad and spend time looking at saddles and dreaming of owning one. There also was usually a box of baby chicks there that someone had ordered and he would lift the lid and let me look at them and then we would place the lid back on. The chicks would start their sounds and he would tap the box and they would immediatley become quiet. I thought he was magic to be able to do that. I won't ever forget how he made time for a little kid.s/Debbie Sinclair This story was posted on 2010-01-08 08:48:25
