Amy Pike sends directions to Spurlington Tunnel Directions to Spurlington Tunnel sent Tunnel is on private property, she says; so owners permission should be obtained About: Visitor wants directions to Spurlington Tunnel To ColumbiaMagazine.com: Hello... Getting to the Spurlington Tunnel is quite simple. (From the South on KY 55, from Columbia, KY. -CM): When you get to Campbellsville, turn right at the second stop light onto Hwy 68 East. Go all the way through Campbellsville (and many stop lights) until you reach the caution light just before the Marion County line and turn right onto Hwy 744 (which is Spurlington RD). After you turn onto Spurlington Rd, turn left on the second road - Parrallel RD. There is only one house on that road. Park on the right side. I would let the homeowners know why you are there as a courtesy since you are on their property. On the far right of their house is a path which takes you to the tunnel. I am thinking the tunnel is about 1/2 mile long. It's generally very muddy, so be prepared. It is definitely worth the time and trip. Hope this helps. Have fun and be careful. s/Amy Pike This story was posted on 2010-01-07 04:45:00
