LWC, Columbia Baptist Church plan celebration Feb. 7, 2010

COLUMBIA, KY - Members of the Lindsey Wilson College community met recently with the Rev. G. Ted Taylor of Columbia Baptist Church to plan Lindsey Wilson Celebration Day. The day will be held February 7, 2010 to celebrate the church's relationship with the college. The public is invited to the service, which begins at 10:30amCT at Columbia Baptist Church, 201 Greensburg Street.




"During these remarkable times of expansion at Lindsey Wilson, Columbia Baptist Church is implementing expansion of its ministry to the college's students, faculty, staff and administration," Dr. Taylor said. "Lindsey Wilson is experiencing the greatest expansion in her history under the visionary leadership of President William T. Luckey Jr."

Dr. Luckey, who has been LWC's eighth president since 1998. will be the special guest speaker on Lindsey Wilson Celebration Day. The Lindsey Wilson Singers will present special music, and the LWC men's and women's soccer teams will be recognized for their intercollegiate success.

The celebration's co-chairs are Sue Stivers and Joseph Willis. Stivers is a Lindsey Wilson trustee and also executive director of the Columbia/Adair Chamber of Commerce. Willis, of Columbia, is an LWC junior majoring in social science in secondary education with a minor in political science. He is also a member of the LWC baseball team.
