She was the owner and founder of Lusada's Florist in Burkesville, KY

Lusada Neeley Keeton, age 88, of Sellersburg, Indiana, formerly of Burkesville, Ky., passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2009 at Maple Manor in Sellersburg,IN

Funeral services for Lusada Neeley Keeton, were held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at 1pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, KY, with Bro. Randall McPherson officiating. Burial was in the Christian Chapel Cemetery.



Lusada Neeley Keeton, native of Cumberland Co., KY (1921-2009)

She was born in the Kettle Community of Cumberland County Kentucky on Friday, April 22, 1921, the daughter of Willie Allen and Dovie Smith Neeley and died December 27, 2009, in Sellersburg, IN at the age of 88 years, 8 months, and 5 days.

She was the former owner and Founder of Lusada's Florist in Burkesville and a seamstress.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hall Keeton, who was killed in World War II, and an infant brother.She is survived by the following:
  • Her children: Patsy (and Fred) Newby, of Charlestown, IN; and Peggy (and Keith) Gwinn, of London, KY

  • Her brother: Joe (and Etheline ) Neeley of Marrowbone, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Barry Hall Gwinn, Teena Newby Richards, Angela Newby Ruter, Robby Gwinn, Freddie Paul Newby and Todd Newby

  • Great Grandchildren: Michael Gwinn, Amy Gwinn, Chris Gwinn, Coty Gwinn, Justin Richards, Paige Richards, Hannah Gwinn, Jacob Gwinn, Megan Ruter, Erica Gwinn, Kelly Ruter, Lorren Newby, Phillip Ruter and Seth Newby
Funeral Services for Lusada Neeley Keeton, were held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at 1pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, KY, with Bro. Randall McPherson officiating. Burial was in the Christian Chapel Cemetery. Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 North Main ST, Burkesville, KY was in charge of all funeral arrangements.
