Obituary: Herschel Grant, 82, Adair Co., KY

He was a member of a very large, prominent Adair County family. He was a member of the Little Cake Christian Church and attended Columbia Christian Church

Herschel Grant, age 82 years, Columbia, KY, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at 3:40amCT at the Metcalfe Healthcare Center in Edmonton, KY.

The funeral service will be Thursday, December 24, 2009, at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY with Bro. Terry White and Bro. Raymond Martin the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. The family requests visiting after 5:30pmCT at the funeral home.



Herschel Grant, Adair Co., KY (1927-2009)

He was born November 12, 1927, the son of the late Ulyssess Sidney and Mary Catherine Bryant Grant of Adair Co. KY and died December 23, 2009 in Edmonton, KY, at the age of 82 years, 1 monthand 13 days.Survived by the following one son: David Grant, Campbellsville, KY
  • Three daughters: Linda Kessler of Portland, KY; Patsy Melton of Lexington, KY; and Ann Martin of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Richard Grant of Athens, AL

  • Five sisters: Rebecca Melton, Bernice Goodin, Judy Watson and Betty Smith all of Columbia, KYand Sandra Smith of Lexington, KY

  • Six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Sidney Grant, Carlie Grant and Danny Grant.
