Obituary: Mae Bell, 96, Taylor Co., KY

She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and the head of a large, respected family. She leaves 57 direct living descendants

Mae Bell of Campbellsville, KY died at 7:40amET, Tuesday, December 22, 2009, in Campbellsville, KY.Funeral Servicdes wil be at 11amET/10amCT, Saturday, December 26, 2009, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Freddy Thompson and Rev. Leo Curry. Visitation will be after 5pmET/4pmCT, Friday, December 25, 2009, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.



Mae Bell, Taylor Co., KY (1913 - 2009)

Mae Bell of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Newt Bennett and Lillie Risen Bennett, was born July 2, 1913 in Green Co., KY. She died at 7:40amET, Tuesday, December 22, 2009, in Campbellsville, KY, at the age of 96 years, 5 months, and 20 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

She united in marriage to Roy W. Bell December 26, 1931. He preceded her in death May 15, 1985.

She is survived by the following:
  • One son and two daughters: Jane Underwood and husband, Chandler of Buffalo, KY; Dorothy DeWitt of Greensburg, KY; and Roy Bell, Jr. and wife, Carolene of Ottawa, IL

  • Ten grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; nineteen great-great-grandchildren

  • Two sisters: Opal Wright of Campbellsville, KY; and Shelby Jean Moore of Greensburg, KY

  • And several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters: Frances Knopp, Beulah Quinn and Clarence Bennett.Send a condolence to the family of Mae Bell
