Hood, OR Cyclists in area when news came of climbers being lost on the mountain Click on headline for story plus photos By David Grigsby, LWC Cycling Coach Here are a couple of photos I snapped of Mt Hood on December 10, and December 14, 2009, as the Lindsey Wilson Cycling team flew out to Oregon for the National Cyclocross Championships. It was only a day later that it was announced that the climbers were lost on the mountain.We spent the weekend racing with this mountain on the horizon and kept the climbers in our thoughts. The team had to drive over the Mt. Hood Pass between Portland and Bend, which was an incredibly beautiful drive. The mountain seemed to have its own weather as the huge white clouds over the summit, which can be seen in the (accompanying) photos, kept dropping snow while the rest of the sky was clear and blue in all directions.
