TOUR SEKY recognizes Sue Stivers for service as chairperson By Maggie Bill SOMRSET, KY - TOUR Southern and Eastern Kentucky (TOUR SEKY) recognized Sue Stivers, Columbia- Adair County Tourism Commission Director for her dedication and service as 2009 Chairperson of TOUR SEKY's Board of Directors. Congressman Hal Rogers and Jeff Crowe, TOUR SEKY President/CEO, presented Ms. Stivers with a gavel in November during TOUR's Annual Tourism Forum. She will remain on the Board of Directors as Immediate Past Chair. In addition to her service to the TOUR SEKY Board of Directors, Stivers also fills many other volunteer roles. She is the current Chairperson for the Heartland Waterways Corridor, which is made up of representatives from six (6) counties. The Corridor meets monthly and works as a team to request funding for projects that benefit the entire corridor. Stivers is also an active member of TOUR SEKY's Cumberland Cultural Heritage Highway Scenic Byway Committee. She has also hosted many Shining STAR Customer Service Training sessions through TOUR SEKY. "Sue Stivers is a priceless resource to TOUR SEKY," said Jeff Crowe. "She has provided leadership and guidance as our Chairperson and we would like to thank her for her service and dedication." TOUR SEKY is an award winning initiative of Congressman Hal Rogers. The organization's mission is to educate, expand, develop and market the existing and potential tourism industry throughout southern and eastern Kentucky, while contributing to the economic, cultural growth, health and awareness, and overall quality of life of the region.
