Absentee vote on School Tax already 48% higher than in 2005

Interest in the Special School Tax to be voted tomorrow seems to be higher than in 2005, if machine absentee voting is an indication.

In 2005, only 43 voted on the machine in the Adair County Court Clerk's office. Already, with almost six hours left before the machine is closed, 64 have voted, an over 48% increase.

Qualified voters who will not be in Adair County tomorrow can vote on the absentee voting machine located in the office of Adair County Court Clerk Sheila Blair in the Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY, until 4:30pmCT, today, Monday, December 14, 2009.

Polls will be open from 6am-6pm to vote on the School Tax proposal at all 16 Adair County Polling places.
