Rotary breakfast kicks off Christmas in Columbia

2009-12-04 - Columbia Baptist Church - Photo George Kolbenschlag.
Columbia Rotary Club will begin serving at 6:30am at the Columbia Baptist Church. From left, Kaye Bowman, J.D. Zornes and Ted Caldwell mix biscuits for Saturday's Community Rotary Egg, Sausage and biscuit breakfast. They are using the renowned biscuit recipe created by Doctor of Biscuitry Emeritus Edgar Troutman who, with admittedly limited success, trained his fellow Rotarians before he retired as the event's chief biscuit cook. Although lacking the Troutman biscuit perfection, they are close and darned good. The breakfast will be served from 6:30 until 9:30 and tickets will be on sale at the door for $5. The Rotary Community Breakfast has become the traditional starting gun for Saturday's Christmas in Columbia celebration.

2009-12-06 - Town Hill, Columbia, KY - Photo by Greg Thomas. People were staying warm any way they could last night at the 2009 Christmas in Columbia Parade Under the Lights.
