Obituary: Clara Smith, 91, Taylor Co., KY

She was a member of a respected Taylor County family, a former employee of Shively Jewelry in Campbellsville, KY, a member of the Taylor Regional Hospital Auxiliary, and was a lifetime member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church

Clara Smith of Campbellsville, KY died at 11:05amET, Saturday, December 12, 2009 in Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral service will be at 11amET/10amCT, Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Curtis Slinker. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 3678 Greensburg RD, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmET/4pmCT, at the funeral home.



Clara Smith, Taylor Co., KY (1918-2009)

Clara Smith of Campbellsville, KY daughter of the late Omer Robert Hinton and Della Antle Hinton was born October 2, 1918 in Green County, Kentucky. She died at 11:05amET, Saturday, December 12, 2009 in Campbellsville, KY, at the age of 91 years, 2 months, and 10 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a lifelong member of Beech Grove Baptist Church.

She was a former employee of Shively Jewelry in Campbellsville.

She was an active member of the Taylor County Hospital Auxiliary for twenty-one years.

She united in marriage to Marshall W. Smith May, 1957. He preceded her in death December 31, 2001.

She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter and son-in-law: Mickie and Henry Blakeman of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three grandsons: Barry Blakeman and wife Donna; Mark Blakeman and wife Tammy and Steve Blakeman, all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Five great grandchildren

  • One sister: Geneva Warren of Louisville, KY

  • And many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother: Lela Warren, Myrtie Smith, Nona McMahan and Bobby Hinton.The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Gideon Bibles and may be made at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.
