Soccer success is lesson in excellence which applies to schools

About: CWC List, Community Working for Children, grows again

By Billy Joe Fudge

Lindsey Wilson's newest NAIA National Soccer Championship is another example of our community's commitment to excellence.

During difficult times we can be tempted to mediocrity, to settle for less than the best. Of course, we should not be shortsighted in our examination of our course, but our ultimate goal should be one of a "continual striving for excellence".

A great friend and Greenbrier Ridge born and bred country philosopher, Ed McKinney once shared a word of wisdom with me that I would love to pass on.

Ed was a building supply salesman who traversed South Central Kentucky marketing his product and cultivating relationships. His occupation and daily observations led him to this conclusion, "if the foundation is good and the roof doesn't leak then the part in between will take care of itself".

The new CWC will be a new foundation to support our kids and a new roof to protect our kids so the "kids in between" can take care of themselves.

Friends and neighbors of Adair County let us continue our tradition of striving for excellence next Tuesday by getting out and voting for the kids.
