Vehicle fails to negotiate turn in Monroe Co., KY, crashes 17 year old driver airlifted from Monroe Co. Medical Center to UL BR> b>By TFC Billy Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY MONROE CO, KY -A collision occurred at 5:11pmCT, Monday, December 7, 2009, on Gamaliel RD, 5 miles south of Tompkinsville, KY. Ethan Strode, age 17, of Tompkinsville, KY, was operating a 2002 Chevy Tahoe northbound on KY 100. Strode failed to negotiate a turn and dropped off the right shoulder of the roadway. Strodes vehicle then struck a tree, ejecting him from the vehicle. Seatbelt was in use. Strode was transported by Monroe Co. EMS to the Monroe County Medical Center, and then airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital. Trooper Logan Richardson, KSP Post 15, Columbia, KY, is investigating.
