The Band: Achievements beyond our wildest dreams

About: A few thoughts from Tim Allen

To Mr. Allen, via CM

Tim - you, the Adair County Band, the Band Boosters, and the entire Columbia/Adair County community deserve high praise and recognition.

Our wonderful band has achieved so much with modest means financially over the years, which just proves that the willingness to accept a challenge and to work hard to achieve one's goals can reap benefits beyond our wildest imaginations.

Even though I could not travel to New York to see Adair's performance in person, I could not have been more excited and proud! Awesome. . . simply awesome<.

I've been receiving numerous emails from my colleagues here at the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta praising your performance. One, in particular, is from Dr. Thomas Hearn, Acting Director of the National Center for Infectious Diseases, originally from Frankfort, KY.

And...it was great to see the Energizer Bunny balloon just a few entries ahead of Adair in the parade. Ha!
BR>God Bless you, Tim, for leaving our band in very good hands.

Best wishes as you continue to nurture and teach the youth of Adair County at LWC.

You will always be one of my role models because you know the true meaning of pride and humility.

Not too many people, who have achieved what you have in music education, are able to display these character traits at the same time, all of the time.

You give others the credit.

Have a beautiful Christmas with your family and friends. Maybe when I come home to KY for Christmas I will see you and can say "congratulations" in person.

s/Bev Merritt
