FRANKFORT, KY - For the second straight night, the Lindsey Wilson College men's basketball team produced a Jekyll and Hyde performance. Tonight, the Blue Raiders used a near-perfect first half and held on in the end to win 72-65 over Talladega (Ala.) College in the Mid-South Conference Challenge at the Frankfort Convention Center.

In the first night of the MSC Challenge, the Blue Raiders scored 62 points in the second half after a lackluster first half to beat Indiana University-Northwest 98-74. Tonight, the Blue Raiders (6-2) raced out to an 18-point lead and led 39-21 at the break.

The Blue Raiders turned a 16-15 lead with a little more than seven minutes left in the half to a 35-17 lead with 2:11 until the break following a 19-2 run.

Lindsey Wilson led at the break 39-21.

Lindsey Wilson extended its lead to 20 points on five different occasions -- the last coming with a 49-29 lead with 15:10 left -- before the Tornadoes began their comeback.

Talladega methodically cut into the Blue Raider lead throughout the next 12 minutes. The Tornadoes got as close as five (66-61 with 1:29 left in the game.

But the Tornadoes would get no closer.

Lindsey Wilson never trailed in the game and made its free throws down the stretch to secure the seven-point win.

Eric McPherson led Lindsey Wilson in with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Andrija Tintor added 11 points in the win.

The Blue Raiders return to action at 2pmCT on Saturday, December 5, 2009, as Lindsey Wilson travels to Davenport (MI) University.
