Kentucky Headhunters and Black Stone Cherry at Cave City

Commentary: Maybe national fame of Adair County High School Marching Band will help focus attention other abundance of musical talent in the area.

By Allan Owens

Last night I took the long trip with Jeff Calhoun to Cave City to see the Kentucky Headhunters and BlackStone Cherry perform at the Convention Center.

Fred Young, who is the drummer with the Headhunters was very proud of the Adair County High School band and their performance in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade!

Disappointing that so much musican talent is overlooked

Fred told me that he is so disappointed that we have such musical talent in this area that often gets overlooked. He said he hopes that Adair County's accomplishments might get some of the abundant musical talent in this area noticed.

Richard Young was also very proud of our band. He said that he thought that Adair County made Kentucky look good.

If you have never seen Black Stone Cherry then you are missing out. John Fred Young who is Richard Young's son is a tremendous drummer. This kid really has talent. He is a very sincere person as well.

The Kentucky Headhunters and Black Stone Cherry, along with a couple other local bands, will be playing again tonight in Cave City at the Convention Center at 6pmCT. Cost of admission is only $15.

This is a charity event for a local food pantry so any canned food items that you are willing to donate are also welcome. This is definately a must see event!
