As dictated by cell phone to ColumbiaMagazine.com

WINCHESTER, KY (6:33amCT) - We've just made a stop in Winchester, KY, on the way home but are now back on the road, headed home. The bus driver said we should arrive in Columbia in about 2 1/2 hours, which will be around 9amCT, in case you want to see the caravan come in on Jamestown Street, if the tour comes the way we left town.

We left New Jersey after a buffet dinner there, and since have only had one eating stop when we cleaned out the rolls and doughnuts in one location, I forget just where it was.

We had excitement during the night when we woke up and saw snow had covered the ground in West Virginia.

We watch a lot of movies on the bus. My job as a bus captain is to work with Jamie Murrell, the other captain, to make sure everyone is present and accounted for, and I get to select the movies we see. This morning, we'll be reliving one of the real highlights of the trip, getting to see "The Lion King" at the Mishkoff Theatre. For most of us, it was the first time we'd seen a New York play.

With all due respect to Macy's, one part of the trip which I might like to forget was Black Friday shopping in their store yesterday. It was a scheduled part of the trip, but for me, it was Shopping Hell. The place was packed--with mobs of shoppers, nothing like my experience buying the insulated wool hat from the street rack. That I'll remember. From the last of the seven busses, hope to see everyone at 9am in good ol' Columbia, Kentucky, the nearest place to Heaven and The Holler there is. -Shamarie
