Brockman Center has strong links to Adair, Cumberland Counties

About: CU opens Brockman Center in Hodgenville KY

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

Thanks for carrying the photographs and story on the dedication of Campbellsville University's Brockman Center in Hodgenville. Dr. Britt Brockman is a first cousin of mine - his father, Russell Brockman of Hodgenville, is a brother to my late mother, Elizabeth Brockman Chowning of Amandaville in Cumberland County. Dr. Brockman and I are the great-grandchildren of George Weatherford Brockman who is buried in the Columbia city cemetery, along with his second wife Elizabeth Cheatham Brockman. "Pa Brockman" as he was called by my family, was a native of Adair County, but moved to the Amandaville community of Cumberland County after marrying his first wife, who was Citie Baker Brockman.

We also appreciate very much the generosity of our good friend, Freddie Hilpp of Lebanon, who donated the building to Campbellsville University. Thanks for your coverage.

Happy Thanksgiving to all...

s/John Chowning
