Shamarie Claiborne: Expedition from The Band Nation is in NYC!

Report from Lincoln Tunnel

By Shamarie Claiborne
as dictated to the CM homebase

NEW YORK CITY, 3:21pmET, NOV. 25, 2009. - We are in New York City!

It's a lot different from The Holler.

Just want everybody to know that, while it has been a sometimes wild trip, with lots of things happening, we all all safe, sound, and happy.

Monday we were on the busses from 4:30am to 10:30pmCT. There was one hour wait when the windshield wipers on one new coach quit working and the coach had to be switched out. That was near London, and then when we got to Hershey, one of the coaches was side swiped by a vehicle driven by a 92 year old man. None of our crew was injured, but we were sad that the driver was.

When we got to Hershey, PA, all ready to fall sound asleep, the rooms on the 3rd floor had not been made up and there was no staff to clean them, so a number of our party had to be moved to another hotel.

We got into New York City at about 9am this morning. We've seen Rockefeller Center and Lincoln Tunnel, and tonight, after we check in the hotel, we're coming back out for a night time ferry ride to see the Statue of Liberty from the Hudson River.

I hope to be emailing photos, later tonight. -Shamarie
