Westlake Regional Hospital Auxiliary News November 2009

Stivers, Membership & Public Relations Chairman The Westlake Regional Hospital Auxiliary held their annual Thanksgiving dinner, Monday, November 16, 2009, at the Hospital Cafe beginning at 6pmCT. Auxiliary members brought their favorite dishes and as a tradition President Margaret Sparks prepared the turkey, dressing, giblet gravy and some of her other favorite dishes. Following the delicious meal, the business meeting was held. Secretary Sharon Harris read minutes Secretary Sharon Harris read the minutes of the past meeting. In the absence of Evelyn Phelps, the treasurers report was given by President Sparks. Cards were signed and sent to Delphus Bardin, James Hatcher and Doris Beard. Scrub sale was a big success President Sparks reported that the scrub sale which was recently held was a big success and thanked everyone for their participation. Jewelry & Purse Fair is December 2, 2009 Plans were made for the Jewelry & Purse Fair to be held December 2, 2009, from 11am to 6pmCT in the Hospital Lobby. The public is invited to come and shop. Beautiful jewelry and purses will be available for sale at discounted prices. You'll find great gift ideas at bargain prices. Christmas Pecans have arrived President Sparks announced that the pecans had arrived and will be available for sale at the Hospital Gift Shop or from any Auxiliary member. Prices are the same as last year and the pecans are from the new crop of '09. Proceeds from the fund raising projects are used to benefit the Hospital. The Auxiliary expresses their sincere thanks and appreciation to every person for their support of all the projects. Auxiliary Christmas Party will be December 15, 2009 The annual Hospital Christmas Party will be held December 15, at 6pmCT at the Hospital Cafe, 901 Westlake DR., Columbia, KY. Auxiliary members will provide the desserts. Pauline Davenport introduces guest speaker Pauline Davenport introduced the guest speaker Joel Bennett of Lifeline Home Health Care who gave an interesting and informative program on Health Care for seniors and others who live alone. Following the educational presentation, Joel Bennett then entertained the audience with jokes and interesting stories which provided much fun and laughs for everyone. Thanks Joel Bennett for sharing your time and talents with the Auxiliary. Attendees listed Those in attendance were: Louise Brock, Pauline Davenport, Betty Flaynik, Mary Hadley, Sharon and Wid Harris, Charles and Yvonne Marshall, Shirley and Simpson Reliford, Margaret Sparks, Sue Stivers, Betty and Al Thorsen, Mary Evelyn Walker, and Eva Mae Wilkinson. Pauline Davenport will be hostess for January 19, 2010 meeting The January meeting will be held Monday, January 19, 2010, beginning at 6:30pmCT, at the Hospital Cafe, 901 Westlake DR., Columbia, KY. Pauline Davenport will be hostess. Mark the date on your calendar and let's start the new year out with good attendance. The "Welcome Mat" is always out for new members.
