Adair has 2 more Nationally Board Certified teachers Jennifer Kemp, Cindy Walker latest to achieve honor, making a total of 11 Adair County School District teachers who hold this distinction. Adair County School District now has most NBCT teachers of any district in Seven-Counties By Phyllis Curry, Instructional Supervisor Adair County School District, Columbia, KY Two more Adair County teachers have completed all the requirements to become Nationally Board Certified Teachers. Both Jennifer Kemp and Cindy Walker received news today they have passed their national boards. There arecurrently a total of 11 Adair County educators who hold this distinction. They are: Debbie Bradshaw, Sarah Burton, Diana Eastham, Pam Geisselhardt, Lisa Godsey, Denise Grant, Kirby Hancock, Jennifer Kemp, Marsha Reddick, Cindy Walker and Debra Wimmer. Adair County is well on the way to meeting the goal of having at least one NBCT in every school by 2020. Compared to surrounding counties, Adair County is leading the way with the eleven who have become nationally certified.The 2008-09 totals include two in Casey and Russell, seven in Green, three in Larue and Metcalfe, six in Campbellsville and eight in Taylor.There is a set of high and rigorous standards accomplished teachers must meet in order to attain National Board Certification, including a thorough and comprehensive assessment process, lots of self-reflection and the completion of a portfolio that is submitted to a panel for judging.
