Chamber is offering $1,800 in prize money for floats

Is your group trying to raise money for special projects? Do you want to raise the level of awareness of your group in the community? Or do you just want to help promote Columbia and Adair County? If so, you should consider entering a float in the Christmas in Columbia parade. Cash prizes totaling more than $1,800 will be awarded. The parade will take place on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 6pmCT.



In the Float Division, the first place $400, second place $300, third place $200, and fourth place $100. There will be two awards for the best floats from out of Adair County - $450 for first place and $250 for second. In the non-float division prizes will be awarded for first ($100), second ($75) and third ($50).

Youth groups, churches, and other businesses and organizations that want to enter floats in the parade can pick up a registration form at the Chamber of Commerce office on Burkesville St. or by clicking on - Float Entry Form -and printing off a copy of the form. Entries should be in by Monday, November 30, 2009. For more information contact the Chamber of Commerce Office (270) 384-6020.
