Green Co., KY tops area 2009 deer harvest, with 443 so far

The modern gun deer season is underway and the numbers are climbing daily at the Kentucky Fish & Wildlife's online telecheck report. So far, in the 7-County Area, the hunt in Green County is the most successful, with 443 deer reported as of November 16, 2009. Adair was next at 389, barely ahead of the 379 in Casey County. The numbers for all seven counties are as follows:
  1. Green County, 443 deer
  2. Adair County, 389 deer
  3. Casey County, 379 deer
  4. Taylor County, 340 deer
  5. Metcalfe County, 323 deer
  6. Cumberland County, 246
  7. Russell County, 150
The word from Rerun's Restaurant, in the middle of the hunt, is that Kentucky's modern gun season continues through November 25, 2009.
