LWC Men's Soccer in MSC championship game Penalty kick sends Lindsey Wilson Men's Soccer past West Virginia Tech, into MSC championship at Toyota Stadium in Georgetown, KY By Chris Wells, LWC Sports Information Director GEORGETOWN, KY - Sophomore forward Moses Aduny scored two goals, including one off a penalty kick in the 68th minute, to lead the second ranked Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer team to a 2-0 win against West Virginia University Tech in the semifinals of the Mid-South Conference Tournament on Thursday at Toyota Stadium. The No. 1-seed Blue Raiders (14-2-1, 6-0-1 MSC) and No. 4-seed Golden Bears (11-7-1, 4-3 MSC) were tied 0-0 at halftime, but a West Virginia Tech handball inside the box in the 68th minute set up Aduny for the game-winning score. The sophomore followed the free-kick goal with another score in the 72nd minute off an assist from junior forward Carnell Learmond. Aduny performed his postseason heroics coming off the bench, taking three shots with two on goal. Lindsey Wilson led the game in shots, 11-4, with six of the attempts on goal compared to just three for the Golden Bears. Blue Raider junior goalkeeper Pedro Caetano played the first half, while freshman Callum Christie took over in the second. Caetano finished with two saves and Christie collected one. West Virginia Tech keeper John Dunn wrapped up four saves for the Golden Bears. The Blue Raiders held the advantage in corner kicks, 8-2, while both teams were charged with 16 fouls. Lindsey Wilson advances to the championship game of the MSC Tournament where they will face the winner of No. 2-seed University of Rio Grande (Ohio) (15-2-2, 6-1 MSC) and No. 3-seed University of the Cumberlands (KY) (14-4-1, 4-2-1 MSC) at 1pmCT on November 13, 2009 at Toyota Stadium.
