Wonders when picture of Northern Water Snake taken About: Northern Water Snake by Pen To ColumbiaMagazine.com I understand that this snake is far, far away from Columbia. That is very comforting. So I actually smiled when I saw this bright picture. But then, several hours later as I was traipsing through the woods on our farm with my two girls, I stopped dead in my tracks. You see, I had convinced myself that by this time, all snakes were in hibernation and we would not have to worry about coming across one of those critters. Our walks had changed from the careful, watch-where-your-foot-is slow steps of the summer to the full-speed-ahead go wherever you want abandonment of knowing there are no critters out to get us. So I have a question that must be answered. When was that picture taken? s/Kelly Crawhorn This story was posted on 2009-11-08 09:43:56
