Peggy Lawson honored with 10 year service award

Peggy Lawson of Columbia, KY was recently honored with a 10 year service award for her volunteer role in an American Cancer Society program, Look Good ... Feel Better. The award is given annually and presented to individuals who have served as an outstanding volunteers in the program.

Peggy Lawson is well known as one of the top volunteers in Adair County, donating considerable free time to the ACS and other causes.

"Peggy Lawson is a wonderful volunteer who is dedicated in helping others on their cancer journey Tammy Tinsley of the ACS said. "She offers words of encouragement and a listening ear to the patients."



The program is a free, non-medical program which assists female cancer patients as they cope with the appearance-related side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. The program now serves over 50,000 women each year. No product endorsement are given, and participates are never asked to buy anything from volunteers or participating organizations.

The Look Good ..Feel Better sessions are held every other month at the Columbia-Adair Chamber of Commerce Meeting Room in the evenings.
