Obituary: Gladys Ilene Grissom, 88, Metcalfe Co., KY

Mrs. Grissom was a member of a respected North Metcalfe County family. She and her husband, who survives, were married 70 years. She was a member of the Hillside Baptist Church

Gladys Ilene Grissom, 88 of Knob Lick, KY, died Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at NHC Health Care in Glasgow, KY.Funeral services will be held 2:00pmCT, Saturday, October 31, 2009, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Pedigo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4pm until 8pmCT, Friday, October 30, 2009 and after 9amCT, Saturday at the funeral home.

She was the daughter of the late Johnny and Daisy Bunch Pedigo.

Gladys was a homemaker and member of the Hillside Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of seventy years, James Grissom and the following:
  • Two children: Verlon Grissom and wife Joyce of Knob Lick, KY; and Lavinia Toms and husband Dennis of Cave City, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Jason (Sarah) Harper of Glasgow, KY; Jessica (Daniel) Gaskins of Edmonton, KY; Megan (Todd) Pennington of Glasgow, KY; and Melissa (Jay) Stephens of Knob Lick, KY

  • Six great grandchildren

  • A daughter in law: Ollie Nell Grissom of Glasgow, KY
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two sons, Shelby and Jay Grissom.
