CPD is investigating pickup vs. pedestrian on Columbia Square

Pedestrian airlifted to University of Louisville from Westlake; driver of Pickup was not injured. CPD, Adair sheriffs, fire department and EMS on scene. Columbia Police Officer Josh Brockman is continuing investigation

The Columbia Police Department is investigating a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident that occurred at approximately 10:55amCT, this morning, October 28, 2009.

The accident occurred when Kathy Grant, 55, was attempting to cross the roadway from the Burkesville Stree side of the Public Square and was struck by a 1999 Dodge truck being operated by Joey Keith, 37, Columbia, KY.



Kathy Grant was transported by Adair EMS to Westlake Regional Hospital. From there she was airlifted by Air Methods to the University of Louisville.

Joey Keith was not injured.

The accident is being investigated by Columbia Police Officer Joshua E. Brockman. Additional officers with the Columbia Police Department, the Adair County Sheriffs Office, and the Columbia-Adair County Emergency Medical Service.
