Obituary: Opal Parnell, 74, Edmonton, KY

She was retired from the Metcalfe Co. Nursing home and attended Bethlehem Tabernacle in Metcalfe County.

Opal Parnell, 74, Edmonton, KY, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at Hospitce of Dayton, Dayton, OH.

Funeral services were held at 2pmCT, Saturday, October 24, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.



She was the daughter of the late Jim David and Parthenia Dean Gibson.

Opal was retired from Metcalfe County Nursing Home in Edmonton and attended Bethlehem Tabernacle in Metcalfe County and the Lighthouse Christian Fellowship church in Fairborne, OH.

She was married to Leamon Parnell and he preceded her in death in 2005.She is survived by the following:
  • Three sons: Donald Parnell, Fairborne, OH; Lonnie Parnell, Bronson, FL; and Michael Parnell, Lafayette, IN.

  • Seventeen grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Greg Parnell, and daughter, Lynda Earhart.

Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
