Obituary: Lina Grant, 89, Glens Fork, KY

Mrs. Grant was a homemaker and a member of a large, respected South Adair Co., KY family. She leaves 43 living descendants

Lina Grant, age 89 years of 245 Arlis Grant Road, Glensfork, KY, passed away Friday, October 24, 2009 at 8:45amCT at her home after several days illness.The funeral service Monday, October 26, 2009, at 1pmCT Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Roger Garner the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Grant-Morrison Cemetery, 2595 Hwy 900 RD, Glens Fork, KY. The family request visiting after 3:30pmCT on Sunday, October 25, 2009, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



Lina Grant was born August 27, 1920, the daughter of the late Pleas and Jennie Grant Morgan of Adair County, KY. She passed away Friday, October 24, 2009 at 8:45 A.M. at her home in Glens Fork, Adair Co., KY on October 24, 2009 at the age of 89 years, 1 month, and 27 days.

She was the widow of Arlis Grant, who preceded her in death on October 8, 1997. She was also preceded in death by one son Billy Joe Grant in 1994, and by two brothers, Anderson Morgan, Henry Morgan: and by three sisters, Pearl Kelly, Mary Lee Bradshaw and Malissy Lawhorn.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three daughters: Bernice Mitchum and husband Bobby of Glens Fork, KY; Virginia Watson of Glens Fork, KY; and Freda Campbell and husband Jerry of Jamestown, KY

  • Two sons: Johnny Grant and wife Pam of Glens Fork, KY; and Daryl Grant of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: J.B. Morgan of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Catherine Powers of Indianapolis, IN

  • Fourteen grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Grant was a homemaker.
