Obituary: Evelyn McQueary Burton, 74, Campbellsville, KY

She was an Adair County, KY, native, a member of a large, prominent Adair-Taylor County family. She was the owner, with her late husband of B & M Grocery in Campbellsville, KY and was a member of the Bible Baptist Tabernacle there

Evelyn McQueary Burton, age 74 years of Campbellsville, KY, formerly of Columbia, KY, oassed away Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 8:57amET, at the Taylor Regiona Hospital in Campbellsville after an illness.

The funeral service will be Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 1:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Bob Cutler the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, West Main ST, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation after 3:30pmCT, Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the funeral home.



Evelyn McQueary Burton, 74, Campbellsville, KY (1934-2009)

She was born November 13, 1934, the daughter of the late Walker and Della Knight McQueary, and passed away October 22, 2009, in Campbellsville, KY at the age of 74 years, 11 months, and 9 days.

She was the widow of Rollin D. Burton, who preceded her in death on August 20, 2001.

She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Beverly Helen Burton Janes, of Campbellsville, KY

  • Six brothers: Ralph McQueary and wife Juanita of Columbia, KY: Rollin McQueary and wife Stella of Campbellsville, KY: Russell McQueary and wife Barbara of Radcliff, KY; Roy McQueary and his friend Fran Johnston of Frankfort, KY; Louis McQueary and wife Brenda ofColumbia, KY; and Stephen McQueary and wife Sheila of Louisville, KY

  • She was preceded in death by one sister, Helen McQueary, on April 7, 1961.

  • Two grandsons: Ben Janes and Jonathan D. Janes andhis fiancee' Carla Gibson along with her son Zack Gibson

  • One great grandson: Brayden Taylor Janes

  • Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends survive
She was a member of the Bible Baptist Tabernacle. She and her late husband were the owners of B & M Grocery in Campbellsville, KY.

Memorials are suggested to take the form of Gideons Bibles.
