Birds of KY: Bull Run flyer ID'ed as Black Vulture

Birds of KY: Bird flight over Bull Run Adair Co KY

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

This bird appears to be a black vulture, not a turkey vulture. The black vulture, has a shorter stubbier tail, and the white banding on the underside of wing is only at tips. The turkey vulture has a longer tail, and the white banding extends the length of the underside of the wing.

s/Crystal GarmonWe appreciate the expertise. The caption has been revised. The earlier mis-identification was CM's, not the photographer's. -EW
