The Strong Women Program to be offered at Adair Health Dept. By Jelaine Harlowe The Adair County Health Department will be offering "The Strong Women Program," A National Fitness Program for Women, beginning November 10, 2009. This is a 12-week program for women 40 and over. The series will be led by Jelaine Harlow, Lee Ann Jessie and Kelli Bonifer. Strong Women was developed by Miriam Nelson, PhD, an associate professor at Tufts Universitys and is based upon years of research on how strength training and proper nutrition improve the health of women of all ages. The program is appropriate for both sedentary and very active women. Weights are provided. There will be an informational meeting on the Strong Women Program on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 5:00pmCT in the basement of the Adair County Health Department, 802 Westlake DR, Columbia, KY 42728 The program begins Tuesday, November 10, 2009, and will be held each Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00-1:00pmCT at the health dept.
