She was a native of Hart Co., KY

Nora Cecil, 86, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 10:50pmET, Friday, October 16, 2009 in Campbellsville, KY at the age of 86 years and 3 days.The funeral service will be at 2pmET/1pmCT, Monday, October 19, 2009, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Otis Skaggs and Rev. Paul J. Dicken. Visitation will be after 5pmET/4pmCT, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 3678 Greensburg RD, Campbellsville, KY.



Pallbearers are Steve Benningfield, Tyler Edrington, Anthony Todd Johnson, Daniel Earl Johnson, Dwayne Earl Johnson, and Jacob Lee Johnson.

Nora Cecil, Campbellsville, KY (1923-2009)

Nora Cecil of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Illie Pierce and Sarah Belle Childers Pierce was born October 13, 1923 in Hart County, KY. She died at 10:50pmET, Friday, October 16, 2009 in Campbellsville, KY at the age of 86 years and 3 days.

She united in marriage to Earl M. Johnson who preceded her in death in 1944.She united in marriage to Leo H. Cecil December 21, 1951. He preceded her in death March 31, 1980.

She is survived by the following:
  • Two sons and one daughter and their spouses: David Earl and Norma Jean Johnson, Sherry Lynn and Doug Brockman, and Phillip Leo and Billie Jo Cecil, all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Seven grandchildren: Dwayne Earl Johnson of Somerset, KY; Anthony Todd Johnson of Greensburg, KY; Lauren Nicole Brockman of Louisville, KY, and Tyler Steven Edrington, Lindsey Danielle Brockman, Natalie Grace Brockman, and Makayla Lashae Cecil, all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two great-grandsons: Daniel Earl Johnson and Jacob Lee Johnson

  • One great-great-grandson: Zachary Johnson

  • Two sisters and three brothers: Velma Jorden of Allegre, KY; and Mary Williams, Ralph Pierce, Hershel Pierce and Willie Pierce, all of Russellville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters: Linard Pierce, Kathleen Pierce, Bertha Fuller, and Barbara Thompson.
