Campbellsville University spaghetti dinner to help Ronald McDonald House By Christina Miller, Campbellsville University The spaghetti dinner and live auction for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kentuckiana will be Saturday, October 24, 2009, from 5pm-8pmET, in Campbellsville University's Banquet Hall, located in the basement of the Student Union Building, at 110 University Drive, Campbellsville, KY. Tickets, at $3 each pay for a spaghetti plate, salad, bread, dessert and drink. All proceeds from this event will go to support Ronald McDonald House Charities. The event is open to the public. The fundraiser is an assignment for Dr. Rick Corum's healthcare management class at Campbellsville University. Tony Huddleston of Campbellsville, a senior at Campbellsville University and student in the healthcare management class, said, "This is an excellent opportunity to help those in need." He added, "As future administrators, this will help us to be able to design our own fundraiser for our organization." Campbellsville University offices are helping out by making baskets for the auction. Themes of the baskets so far include chocolate, date night, CU athletics, Kitchen Ware, Children's Fun and Scrapbooking. Ronald McDonald is being invited Students in the class are working on inviting Ronald McDonald to attend the event and hang out with children. Another student in the class, Sylvia White of Hodgenville, KY, said guest speakers are scheduled to give personal testimonies about their experience with Ronald McDonald House. James and Kacey McBride of Hodgenville, KY, are scheduled to speak; they spent five months in the Ronald McDonald House with their son, Jaden, when he was ill. Ronald McDonald House offers families home cooked meals, private bedrooms and playrooms for children while children of the families are in and out of the hospital. Eighty-four cents of every dollar donated to Ronald McDonald House directly helps children and their families. For more information regarding Ronald McDonald House, visit www.rmhc.org. For more information about the fundraiser, contact Huddleston at jahuddleston@campbellsville.edu. This story was posted on 2009-10-14 14:26:53 Click Here for a printable version of the article.
