Lenn Neal, Phil Bramblett get new KY Corrections posts Both are getting homecomings. Neal to native Bell Co.; Bramblett to place where KY Corrections career started Why it's news here: Columbia, KY is site of Adair Youth Development Center, part of the KY Department of Corrections system From KY Department of Corrections PINEVILLE, KY (October 9, 2009) - Kentucky Department of Corrections Deputy Commissioner Al Parke today announced the move of two key Department personnel to different Deputy Warden assignments. The transfer of Lenn Neal from Little Sandy Correctional Complex to the Bell County Forestry Camp will allow him to return to Bell County where he is a native and lifelong resident and to the prison where he began his Corrections career. Phil Brambletts transfer to Luther Luckett Correctional Complex is also allowing him to return to the institution where he began his Corrections career over 23 years ago. Both transfers are effective October 16, 2009. Lenn Nea back to Little SandyNeal began his career with the Department of Corrections in April 1986 as a Correctional Officer at the Bell County Forestry Camp. In 1989 he was promoted to Sergeant and three years later, achieved the rank of Lieutenant. In February of 2007 he was promoted to Captain and held that position until being promoted in September of 2007 to Deputy Warden at the Little Sandy Correctional Complex. Neal held this position for a little over two years until receiving the transfer back to his home institution. In 1992 when the Bell County Forestry Camp became the first minimum-security institution to start a Corrections Emergency Response Team, it was under the guidance and supervision of Neal. He has continued his involvement and dedication to the CERT Team, currently holding the position as the Eastern Regional CERT Commander for the Department. Neal is working toward his bachelors degree in criminal justice. He is the Brigade General for the 15th Division of the National Defense Service Command, U.S. Volunteer Homeland Security Service Command out of Washington, D.C. Neal and his wife Alicia have two children Amanda and Emma Grace, and a grandson, James Hagan. The family attends Salem Baptist Church at Clear CreekPhil Bramblett After starting his career at Luther Luckett Correctional Complex in 1986, Bramblett was soon promoted to Correctional Sergeant and in 1992 was promoted to Correctional Lieutenant. In 1994 he was promoted again, this time to Correctional Captain and he was heavily involved in the opening of the Green River Correctional Complex. He wrote Post Orders, Policies and Procedures, and the Emergency Procedures for the new facility. He was promoted to Correctional Unit Administrator II at Roederer Correctional Complex in 1998 where he also served as the Commander of the CERT Team. In 2005 he was promoted to Deputy Warden at the new Little Sandy Correctional Complex where he was once again heavily involved in opening a new facility. In 2007 he transferred to his current position as Deputy Warden of Security at Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex. His interests include coin collecting, physical fitness training, hunting and fishing, competitive shooting and woodworking. He is also a licensed gunsmith.
