A Leatherwood tradition: Corn Breakfast with the Jessies Click on headline for story plus photos. For the guest list and whether or not a good time was had by all, Click here By Johnnietta England Jessie Faye and Ronnie Jessie of the Leatherwood Community in Greater Nell, Adair Co., KY, has a annual family tradition which continued Sunday morning, October 11, 2009. She calls it "corn breakfast," and this year it was sumptuous. The menu included fried corn, to give the occasion it's name, and Faye's Homemade biscuits, peach preserves and apple butter, along with fresh orange slices. We also had white gravy, chocolate gravy, sugar syrup, country ham, sausage, fried tenderloin, eggs (fried and scrambled), fried potatoes, fried corn and redeye gravy. Corn breakfast was also an occasion to do a photo walk with Kenton Jessie, my nephew who is a student at Adair County High School. This story was posted on 2009-10-12 02:32:41
