Youngs Mill: It was built by the Montgomery brothers About:Youngs Mill: Samuel Young was the first Young in Adair Co., KY by Carol Reeves Shaul By Wanda Young Beard Looks like Carol Reeves Shaul got it right. I wish I had taken pictures years ago when I was there and the mill was still standing. I am still looking for information on old Samuel Young. I wonder if anybody has a list of the people buried on the Old "Young Plantation," as it was called. I wonder if the Bennett family or the Bryant family or any of the other families that descended from old Samuel have information on him, such as where he came from. My information is that the Young Mill was built by the Montgomery brothers andwas known as the Montgomery MIll before it became known as the Young Mill. When Uncle Alvin Young bought the land there he got the mill. My great grandfather, John Young, ran the mill for a time, before Uncle Alvin did. -Wanda B. This story was posted on 2009-10-08 10:28:08
