Exciting action at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Blue Raider DR, Columbia, KY, Wednesday, October 7, 2009. Next: Raiders host Embry-Riddle U, Friday, Oct. 9, 2009.

By Dan White, Asst. LWC Sports Information Director

COLUMBIA, KY - After leading 1-0 for nearly 68 minutes, the third ranked Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer team was dealt a late blow by 25th ranked University (Ky.) of the Cumberlands in the 85th minute to seal a 1-1 tie in double overtime Wednesday at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.

Patriot sophomore midfielder Mamadou Camara broke loose down the right side of the field to deliver the late-game heroics for Cumberlands (7-3-1, 1-1-1 MSC). Beating a host of Blue Raider defenders, Camara drilled a laser into the back of the net to knot the score at 1-1.

Lindsey Wilson (6-1-1, 2-0-1 MSC) was given its early 1-0 lead off of an own goal by the Patriots.

Cumberlands freshman keeper Dennis Kramer stopped a shot by Lindsey Wilson freshman midfielder Lebogang Moloto off a free kick but lost his footing and the ball as it rolled out of his grasp and into the goal for the score.

Lindsey Wilson tallied an offensive advantage in the game, taking 15 shots compared to just eight for Cumberlands. Still, one late goal by Camara was all it took to put the contest into overtime.

Both team's defenses put the clamps on advancing the ball in the two overtime periods. No saves were made in the extra sessions and only one shot was attempted by Lindsey Wilson.

Blue Raider freshman keeper Callum Christie finished with three saves, while Kramer was busy in the Cumberlands goal, wrapping up 10 saves for the game.

Lindsey Wilson Men's Soccer hosts Embry-Riddle (AZ) University at 7pmCT on Friday, October 9, 2009, at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Blue Raider DR, Columbia, KY.
