KSP Activity Report for September 2009

Traffic fatalities for 2009 surge past those for 2008. Post 15 traffic deaths in September were in Adair, Green, Marion and Washington Counties. Statewide fatality counts up over year before, too

COLUMBIA, KY - During the month of September, 2009, there were 44 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.

There were four fatalities:


  • James M. Giles, Columbia, KY, was killed in Adair County on September 3, 2009.
  • LaDonna Sallee, Elkhorn, KY, was killed in Marion County on September 18, 2009
  • .
  • Corey Spears, Greensburg, KY, was killed in Green County on September 21, 2009
  • Frederick Bushey, Springfield, KY, was killed in Washington County on September 26, 2009.
This brings our yearly fatality count to 33 compared with 32 through this same period in 2008.

Statewide fatality count stands at 591 compared with 586 through this same period in 2008.
