Campbellsville University Orchestra to perform October 6, 2009 Concert will feature premier performance of works by CU junior Seth Johnson. List of Campbellsville University Orchestra below By Christina Miller News from Campbellsville University The Campbellsville University Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. J. Robert Gaddis, dean of the School of Music, will present the first of several concerts this year at the Campbellsville Baptist Church Sanctuary, 420 N. Central Ave., Campbellsville, KY, on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at 8pmET/7pmCT. The event is free and open to the public. The concert will feature the premier performance of The Dance by Seth Johnson, a junior at Campbellsville University. It will also feature the encore perofrmance of The Legend of Sherwood Forest, also by Johnson. Other works include Meditation by Jules Massenet, Variations on a Theme of Haydn by Johannes Brahms, Symphony No. 4, 4th Movement by Brahms and Selections from The Phantom of the Opera by Andrew Lloy Webber. Dr. Mark Bradley, Professor Music and Dr. Frieda Gebert, associate professor of music (vocal/choral), will be singing Themes from that work played by the orchestra. Associate conductor, Wansoo Cho will conduct both of the Brahms selections. Violin one players include: Marcus Silva of Fortaleza, Brazil; Seung-Hwa Han of Busan, Korea; Dr. Heidy Ximenes, assistant professor of music, of Campbellsville, KY; Saelim Jung of Changwon, Korea; Jae Hyok Kim of Gyeougsan, Korea; Courtney Gilbert of Busan, Korea; Haegee Chung of Busan, Korea; and Elizabeth Lemmon of Liberty, KY Violin two players include: Jonatas Souza of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Ji-Hoon An of Busan, Korea; Hannah Thompson of Cincinnati, OH; Megan Watkins of Campbellsville, KY; Garth Kauffman of Campbellsville, KY; and Mary Eastham of Greensburg, KY Viola players include: Denis Santos of Fortaleza, Brazil; Wansoo Cho of Busan, Korea; Sarah Gilbert of Hodgenville, KY; Katie Johnson of Leitchfield, KY; and Roger Davis of Campbellsville, KY.
