Cooperative effort restores Trabue House historical marker KY Historical Society, Kentucky Highway Department, Mayor Pat Bell's office, and the Adair County Garden Club work together. Trabue-Russell House, 201 Jamestown ST, Columbia, KY, is better than ever for visits, hosting events, or as a romantic place to get married (or re-married) By Barbara Armitage, President, Adair Co. Garden Club Time and the forces of nature had taken its toll on the sign that commemorates the life of Daniel Trabue and marks the historic home he built in 1823. In a cooperative effort between the Kentucky Historical Society, The State road crew, the Mayor's office and the Adair County Garden Club the historical marker received a new pole and was reset in its place of honor on Jamestown Street. If you would like to visit or get married or host any other event at the Trabue-Russell House contact the mayor's at (270) 384-2501 office to arrange a tour. The Julia Miller Horton Memorial Rose Garden is open to the public. If you would like to learn more about the gardens or volunteer your time please contact Barbara Armitage at the Adair County Garden Club (270) 250-2979. This story was posted on 2009-09-24 05:23:52
