Obituary: Nona Bess Curry Bennett, 71, Adair Co., KY

She was a member of a large, respected Western Adair Co., KY family and was retired from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY. She attended Morris Chapel United Methodist Church for 42 years.

The funeral service for Nona Bess Curry Bennett, age 71 years, 2417 Weed Keltner Road, Morris Chapel Community in Adair Co., KY, will be Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 1:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Jeff Sparks the officiating clergy.Interment in Morris Chapel Cemetery, 46 Morris Chapel RD off Weed Keltner Road, Edmonton, KY in Western Adair County. Visitation will be after 4:00pmCT, Saturday, September 19, 2009, at the funeral home.


Nona Bess Curry Bennett (February 24, 1938 - September 17, 2009)

Nona Bess Curry Bennett was born on February 24, 1938 to the late Ausie Walker and Ida S. Willis Curry of Adair Co., KY and passed away Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 8:50amCT, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky. after a short illness, at the age of 71 years, 6 months, and 25 days.

She is survived by her husband, Odell Bennett, of the Weed Keltner Road, and the following:
  • Three brothers: Ben Curry and wife Imogene, Shepherdsville, KY: Gwin Curry and hislate wife Jennie, Smithsville, KY; and Clifton Curry and wife Phyllis, Columbia, KY

  • Three sisters: Darcie Radford and husband Phillip, Shepherdsville, KY; Maggie Janes (late husband Lewis) Columbia, KY: and Nell Curry of Columbia, Ky.
  • Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Nola Curry, Columbia, KY; Ruby Jessie, Edmonton, KY; Ovalee Finn, Edmonton, Y; Walton Bennett and wife EnestineBennett, Columbia, KY; and Justin Bennett of Columbia, KY

  • And several nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by one brother, Thelbert Curry.

Memorials are suggested to the Morris Chapel Cemetery Fund & may be made at the funeral home.
