2009 MS Walk raises $7,706.00 in Columbia, KY This year's total makes cumulative total raised in Columbia over $100,000 to find a cure By Lynda McKinley, MS Walk Coordinator I would like to thank everyone who made this year's walk a success. This year's grand total was $7,706.00! It was much lower than the past years walks but due to the way economy is, I was pleased with the outcome. Since we have been hosting the MS Walk in Columbia, Columbia has raised over $100,000 for research to find a cure. Thank you, to all the volunteers and teams who raised money. Without your efforts we could not have made such strides towards research. I would like to thank our sponsors: Gold Sponsors this year were: Community Medical, First and Farmers Bank, and Hot Prints. Our Silver Sponsors were: Stotts, Phelps, McQueary Funeral Home, Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, Bank of Columbia and IMO Industries. Thanks to Coca Cola Coke, IGA, Wal-Mart and Save A Lot for supplying water and refreshments for the walk. If you have missed out on giving a donation and would like to give, we are still collecting. You can make your checks out to NMSS and mail to 303 Clinton Street, Columbia, KY 42728 Attn: Lynda McKinley, MS Walk Coordinator. I will be turning in any donations made to the MS Society the end of the month. Again, Thank You!! -Lynda McKinley This story was posted on 2009-09-16 20:31:51
