LWC Women's Cross Country ties for third at Centre Invitational DANVILLE, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College freshman Sharon Ronoh finished with a time of 20 minutes and 20.65 seconds to take second place and lead the women's cross country team to a third-place tie in its first race of the season at the Centre College Invitational in Danville, KY, on Saturday. Following Ronoh across the line in eleventh place was Blue Raider sophomore Alicia Mattingly with a time of 21:37.33. Senior Monicah Maiyo finished the 5K course in 22:17.75, taking 16th place out of 69 runners. Senior Amanda Johnson rounded out the Lindsey Wilson harriers in the top 25 in 18th place with a time of 22:33.50. Lindsey Wilson ended the event with 66 total points, tying Campbellsville University for third place out of eight teams. Centre College won the invite with 31 points, placing four individuals in the top 10. Georgetown College claimed second place with 64 team points. Other finishers for the Blue Raiders were juniors Nicole Furnish and Candace Young in 27th (23:07.22) and 46th place (25:10.34), respectively. Junior Chelsea Conway rounded out the Blue Raider harriers in 54th place with a time of 25:47.42. Lindsey Wilson has a week off before its next race at 9:00amCT on September 19 in Berea, Ky., for the Berea College Invitational. The Blue Raiders finished third in Berea in 2008.
