LWC Cyclists sew up Midwest Conference title with huge win Those Amazing Athletes dominate competition: Lindsey Wilson scores 2214 points to second place University of Missouri 344. Other schools in meet, held on Aaron property on Bomar Heights and at GR State Park were Murray State, Michigan Tech, University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, University of Cincinnati, Butler University, Indiana University, Lindenwood University, Purdue University, and Washington University State. Click on headline for story plus photo(s) By Dave Grigsby, LWC Cycling Coach The Lindsey Wilson squad sewed up the Midwest Conference title this weekend only 3 races into the mountain bike season with a commanding win on its home turf. Saturday was the short track and dual slalom events at the Aaron property on Bomar Heights, while Sunday was the cross country race at Green River State Park in Taylor Co. Once again, Lindsey Wilson won all the Mens and Womens A events as Sarah Lukas took the top place in the short track with a sprint finish. Matt Dooley took the win in the Mens A short track with Christopher Bogedin and Kip Spaude 2nd and 3rd. Freshman Taylor Ladd dominated the Mens B race. Alder Martz, a Freshman road racer, would go on to lap the field in the Mens C short track, his first time on a mountain bike. The slalom event was so dominated by Lindsey Wilson and its talented gravity riders, that the top 6 places went to the Blue Raiders. Logan Collins beat teammate and current National Dual Slalom champion Weston Pope in the final, followed by Clayton Omer, Steve Weimar, Brandon Hopkins and Tyler Martin. Madison Pitts would come back from a crash in the first round to win in the Womens A slalom. In the Mens C slalom race, Lindsey Wilson took 6 of the top 7 spots with Taylor Ladd winning followed by Josh Nagode and Jacob Bracket. The Mens D dual slalom was won by Javery Hattat with Will Gates second. Sundays cross country race was won by Christopher Bogedin for the Mens A while Scott Hoffner took 3rd. Ashley James won again in the womens A cross country. Taylor Ladd and Jacob Bracket went 1-2 in the mens B cross country. Lindsey Wilson scored 2249 points, a season high to its next competitor University of Missouri with 344 points. The race was attended by Lindsey, Missouri, Murray State, Michigan Tech, University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, University of Cincinnati, Butler University, Indiana University, Lindenwood University, Purdue University, and Washington University State.
