Picnic will honor Adair Co., KY emergency personnel

Volunteers and door prizes are still needed

A community-sponsored picnic will be held in remembrance of September 11, 2001 and to honor local emergency personnel.

The picnic will be held Friday, September 11 at 5:30 p.m. at the city park, 413 Fairground ST, Columbia, KY next to the Adair County Fairgrounds.

All members of emergency services who provide service to Adair County are invited to attend and to bring their families.



A ceremony will be held in remembrance of the victims of 9/11 and those who rose to service in response to the attacks in America.

We are making every attempt to contact local businesses and organizations to ask for your support, but we are running out of time. Please know that you individually and your business/organization are encouraged to participate in this important event. You can help by working where needed during set up prior to the event, assist during the event or you can donate a door prize or funds.

The event is designed as a way for the community to thank local emergency personnel for their commitment to provide a safe community and their assistance during times of need.

Volunteers and door prizes are still needed.

If you have not yet been contacted and want to show your support by helping with the picnic, contact the Adair County Judge's office at (270) 384-4703 or Sharon Burton at (270) 384-9454. Door prizes can be dropped off at the Adair County Community Voice. Call (270) 384-9454 if you would like someone to pick up something a door prize or donation.
